Dressing table set

Japan, around 1900

Wood covered with natural lacquer and decorated in takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, nashiji, mura nashiji and kirigane. Copper and copper alloy mounts. The doors feature the motif of a bird of prey and a phoenix in a pine tree; the drawers present landscape motifs with Mount Fuji.
